Abstract:
A study of the effect of road traffic accidents on an AHA's resources for a three year period found that the annual 'average measurable' cost per annum exceeded 500,000 pounds. Dr K. S. Cliff, senior lecturer in community medicine, Southampton University, describes how this figure breaks down and assesses the implications for the health service as a whole.
