Oncology and product line management: pitfalls in practice
Abstract:
Oncology services are anticipated to grow to meet demands set in motion by the Baby Boom. There are documented examples of the application of product line management to oncology services as well as data for establishing "winners and losers" and the factors behind the differences in per case costs. Several factors, however, impact the successful use of product management in oncology. This article examines the steps in using the approach and potential pitfalls.
