Survival strategies for rural health care

Alternative delivery systems, physician recruitment, and small hospital survival strategies were some of the issues discussed at the American Medical Association's 33rd annual conference on rural health. The role of physician's assistants and nurse practitioners and their effect on costs was another major topic of concern at the conference where physicians and administrators discussed the health problems of rural America.
