Increased sympathetic nerve activity in renovascular hypertension

Patients with renovascular hypertension exhibit significantly elevated sympathetic nerve activity. This adrenergic overactivity may worsen blood pressure and cardiovascular risk in these individuals.

- This overactivity may also be a factor in the high cardiovascular mortality associated with renovascular hypertension.
