Abstract:
The acquisition of genital herpes simplex virus (HSV) is still a significant risk to sexually active individuals. This chapter addresses the epidemiology and natural history of genital herpes, and new therapies that have changed the natural course of events following infection. The possibility of an HSV vaccine is also discussed.
