Adolescent Abortion: Correlates and Consequences

This chapter is organized into five sections that discuss the characteristics of adolescent aborters, the decision-making process, preabortion counseling, medical management, and postabortion adjustment. The purpose of the chapter is to help clinicians differentiate aborters from childbearers, to become informed participants in adolescents' pregnancy-resolution decision making, to manage medical aspects of the procedure, and to prepare patients for a healthy adjustment afterward.
