Dental implant materials: commercially pure titanium and titanium alloys
1Department of Restorative Dentistry, University of Alabama School of Dentistry, Birmingham 35294, USA.
Abstract:
Manufacturers use six different titanium-based biomaterials to fabricate dental implants. Each of these materials, including four grades of commercially pure titanium and two titanium alloys, has distinct mechanical and physical properties. Clinicians should recognize these differences for optimal treatment planning and patient care.
