Abstract:
Fertility control, including induced abortion, is an integral part of women's health care. With the availability of sensitive home pregnancy tests, increasing numbers of women are seeking abortion during early pregnancy. Recent technological advances allow women with early pregnancies to choose medical or surgical abortion options. With appropriate skills and preparation, clinicians can offer the full range of early abortion techniques safely in the office setting. Helping women choose the most appropriate method enhances safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction.
