Oscillations and cysteine metabolism in aortic strips of hypertensive rats

Abstract:
Aortic strips of normal and hypertensive rats were used for the study. In comparison with normal rats hypertensive rats show a low cysteine and high homocysteine level and vascular auto-oscillations. The auto-oscillations are damped by cysteine, cAMP, theophylline and heparin but not by ADP.
