Background:

  • Immunoglobulin A glomerulonephritis (IgA-GN), also known as Berger's disease, is the most prevalent form of glomerulonephritis diagnosed via renal biopsy.
  • The clinical course of IgA-GN is highly variable.
  • Abnormalities in Immunoglobulin A (IgA) production or breakdown are implicated in the etiology and pathogenesis of IgA-GN.
