Summary
Kidney lipid-binding proteins (LBPs) were investigated. A novel 110-kDa heart-type fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP)-related protein was found in human glomeruli capillary walls.

- Several lipid-binding proteins (LBPs) are known, including fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs), acyl-CoA binding protein (ACBP), sterol carrier protein 2 (SCP2), cellular retinol binding protein (CRBP), and phosphatidylinositol transfer protein (PITP).
Purpose of the Study:
- To determine which LBPs are expressed in isolated rat glomeruli (RG), cultured rat mesangial cells (RMC), and human kidney.
- To characterize a novel H-FABP-related protein in human glomeruli.
