    Summary

    Forebrain noradrenaline depletion potentiated morphine catalepsy but weakened cholinergic catalepsy. This suggests noradrenaline is crucial for cholinergic drug effects and modulates morphine-induced catalepsy.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the role of forebrain noradrenaline in catalepsy induced by morphine, cholinergic agonists (arecoline, pilocarpine), and haloperidol.

    • Intracerebral injection of 6-hydroxydopamine to deplete forebrain noradrenaline.
    • Administration of morphine, arecoline, pilocarpine, and haloperidol to induce catalepsy.
    • Assessment of catalepsy severity following noradrenaline depletion.
