A case of high origin of the common interosseous artery

Abstract:
During autopsy dissection a high origin of the common interosseous artery was found. The artery originated in the upper one third of the arm and followed the course of brachial artery. It gave off muscular branches and radial as well as ulnar recurrent arteries, and in the distal part of the cubital fossa it divided into anterior and posterior interosseous arteries. The brachial artery passed medially to the median nerve, gave off superior and inferior ulnar collateral artery, and above the superior border of the pronator teres muscle divided into ulnar and radial arteries.
