Summary

First-trimester nuchal translucency screening using ultrasonography can detect fetal aneuploidy. Adding maternal serum markers like free beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) improves screening accuracy.
