Conclusions:

  • Laparoscopic appendectomy leads to a significant decrease in hospital stay with comparable postoperative morbidity to open appendectomy.
  • The laparoscopic approach is particularly beneficial for gangrenous or perforated appendicitis, reducing both operating time and length of hospitalization.
