Summary

The central dopaminergic system appears unaffected in children with major depressive disorder (MDD). Baseline prolactin (PRL) levels did not differ significantly between children with MDD and controls, suggesting no dopaminergic compromise.

  • Measured plasma PRL concentrations every 20 minutes over 24 hours.
