[Renal hydatid cyst: cytological diagnosis using fine needle biopsy (FNA)]

We report the case of a 21 years old man with renal cholics in whom the diagnosis of renal hydatid disease was established by FNA. Considering the high risk of anaphylactic shock reactions and dissemination of daughter cysts, the use of FNA for the diagnosis of hydatid disease has to be limited to unexpected cases with unusual primary localization.
