Background:

Drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DIHS) is a rare but severe adverse drug reaction.
DIHS commonly presents with skin lesions, fever, lymphadenopathy, eosinophilia, and hepatitis.

Observation:

A 16-year-old female with acne developed DIHS after one month of minocycline treatment.
The patient presented with a generalized pustular eruption.
Prick tests with diluted minocycline were positive at 48 hours.

Findings:

This case demonstrates that delayed prick testing can elicit characteristic lesions in minocycline-induced hypersensitivity.
Minocycline, a tetracycline antibiotic, is increasingly implicated in DIHS and other severe reactions.
