Summary

Pericardio-peritoneal drainage offers a safe and effective solution for persistent massive pericardial effusion in cardiac tamponade patients unresponsive to conventional treatments. This minimally invasive procedure provides lasting relief from fluid buildup around the heart.

Findings:

  • The patient experienced complete resolution of pericardial effusion and tamponade symptoms post-procedure.
  • At a seven-month follow-up, the patient remained clinically stable and free from recurrence, demonstrating the efficacy of the intervention.
