Results of thumb correction in leprosy using different techniques

Summary
Surgical correction for hand paralysis in leprosy patients showed that transferring half of the flexor pollicis longus (FPL) tendon to the extensor pollicis longus (EPL) yielded the best thumb function. Other tendon transfers provided good results, especially for manual laborers.
