Objective:
To develop a simple and reliable method for DNA amplification.
Methods:
Double-strand-primers of fragile X mental retardation 1 gene (FMR1) were generated and used to amplify DNAs that were roughly extracted from human peripheral blood.
Results:
All products from 15 DNA samples by double-strand-primered polymerase chain reaction (DSP-PCR) were more specific than those amplified by routine PCR.
Conclusion:
The double-strand-primers reported here may increase the specificity of PCR amplification.
