Background:

  • Autologous bone marrow transplantation (ABMT) is a treatment for malignant lymphoma.
  • Early immune system changes are observed post-ABMT.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the long-term persistence of immune system changes after ABMT in lymphoma patients.
  • To analyze specific immune cell subsets, including B cells, T cells (CD4+, CD8+), and their phenotypes (CD45RA, CD45RO).
  • To assess the functional immune response, specifically Th1/Th2 differentiation, years after ABMT.

Main Methods:

  • Study included 36 lymphoma patients who achieved complete remission (CR) after ABMT.
  • Median follow-up time was 5 years (range 4-10 years) post-ABMT.
