Summary

Inferior vesical fistula (IVF) is a rare bladder exstrophy variant. This case report details a successful simple closure of IVF in a 20-month-old female, resulting in normal urination.

  • This report presents a case of inferior vesical fistula (IVF) in a 20-month-old female patient.
  • The patient exhibited a normal urethral caliber and position.
  • Adequate bladder capacity was noted.

Findings:

  • A simple surgical closure of the inferior vesical fistula was performed.
  • The patient demonstrated a normal micturition pattern post-procedure.

Implications:

  • This case expands the understanding of bladder exstrophy variants.
  • Simple closure may be an effective treatment for inferior vesical fistula.
  • Further research into rare bladder anomalies is warranted.
