[Electronic information sources in medicine]

This article is a brief introduction into electronic information resources in the medical field. Several commonly believed myths claiming the Internet to be the best universal information source are discussed and reviewed of both currently used professional methods of access to information: CD-ROM and online, is provided. The closing part of the article provides descriptions for the most important electronic databases and their types.
