Abstract
Objective:
The objective of the study was to compare the efficacy of CO2-enhanced arteriography with that of arteriography enhanced with standard iodinated contrast material in the detection of gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
Conclusion:
For acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage, we did not find an advantage to using CO2 to show active bleeding. In fact, CO2 was inferior to iodinated contrast material in revealing nonbleeding vascular anomalies.
