Summary

Suicide risk may be linked to reduced serotonin activity and hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis (HPA) hyperactivity. Low cholesterol levels and HPA dysregulation may worsen this serotonin deficit, increasing vulnerability to impulsive behaviors.
