Summary

Neurochemical abnormalities in normal-appearing white matter (NAWM) were detected in patients with optic neuritis (ON) using magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). These findings suggest MRS may identify ON-related brain changes not visible on standard MRI scans.
