One-hour compressive strength of dental amalgam

The one-hour compressive strength of 22 commercially available dental amalgams has been measured. Large differences between different alloys were observed. It was recognized that an intermediate one-hour compressive strength is probably the most desirable in view of the other properties which are involved.
