Summary

A simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) rhesus monkey model showed that cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) responses are crucial for controlling SIV. An MVA-based vaccine effectively elicited these CTL responses, suggesting potential for HIV vaccine development.
