Shorter rest intervals (20s) during circuit weight training (CWT) significantly increase excess postexercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) and net calorie expenditure during recovery. However, longer rest intervals (60s) result in slightly greater total caloric expenditure when exercise and recovery are combined.
