A rare shoulder dislocation caused by glenoid and acromial fractures, successfully treated with osteosynthesis, resulted in full shoulder range of motion and return to work.

Background:

Subacromial shoulder dislocation is uncommon.
Simultaneous cranial glenoid and acromial fractures are exceedingly rare.
Handball injuries can lead to complex shoulder trauma.

Observation:

A patient presented with a subacromial shoulder dislocation after a handball injury.
Computed Tomography (CT) scan revealed associated cranial glenoid and acromial fractures.
The injury pattern was complex and required detailed imaging for diagnosis.

Findings:

The shoulder dislocation was successfully reduced.
The cranial glenoid fracture was surgically stabilized using osteosynthesis.
Postoperative imaging confirmed anatomical reconstruction of the glenoid joint surface.

This case demonstrates a successful surgical approach for a rare fracture-dislocation pattern.
Anatomical reconstruction led to excellent functional recovery.
The patient regained full range of motion (180 degrees abduction) and returned to full-time work.
