Cast arch bars used in orthognathic surgery
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry
|December 1, 1975
Abstract:
Cast arch bars are designed so that they are stable, comfortable, thin, and strong enough to withstand the forces of mastication during healing. The use of chromecobalt alloys for these arch bars keeps the cost low. The alloys are well tolerated by the patient and not as cumbersome as acrylic resin splints.
