Short-acting inhaled beta2-agonists effectively prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) in children. Hydrofluoroalkane-134a (HFA) albuterol demonstrated equal effectiveness to chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) albuterol and superior effectiveness compared to placebo in protecting against EIB.
