Summary

High-activity Samarium-153-EDTMP therapy combined with other treatments significantly improved local control and reduced pain in a patient with unresectable osteosarcoma. This multimodal approach shows promise for advanced bone cancer cases.

  • The patient experienced complete pain relief within 48 hours of Sm-153-EDTMP administration.

Findings:

  • Bone scintigraphy and PET scans showed decreased tracer uptake and reduced glucose metabolism in primary tumors and metastases.
