Abstract:
The implementation of ambulatory payment classifications will have a tremendous effect on ambulatory surgery centers. Whereas it will reduce reimbursements on widely performed procedures, such as cataract removal, it will increase reimbursements on others in such a way that it may spur the growth of new, single-specialty surgery centers.
