Streptococci and viruses in association with rheumatic fever in Wairoa

An analysis of 398 viral cultures from 151 children belonging to 101 families carried out in the Wairoa area in 1963: with an analysis of 169 throat swabs taken from the same group of 50 patients for the months of May, June, July and August 1974, and the incidence of the haemolytic streptococcus as found from the Wairoa Hospital laboratory cultures for 1974 is reported.
