Mast cells rapidly migrate across brain blood vessels into the central nervous system (CNS). This cellular infiltration explains the quick rise in mast cell numbers observed in the brain during physiological changes.

- This study provides the first evidence of rapid mast cell penetration of brain blood vessels.
- Mast cell migration into the CNS parenchyma may explain rapid increases in brain mast cell populations following physiological stimuli.
