Manipulation of depth cues in photographs

In a previous paper, the depth cues contained in a photograph were described. This paper looks at the photographic controls available to the photographer or illustrator when manipulating depth cues. The manipulations described here are mostly those achieved in the camera, although considerable control is available through computer manipulation or printing techniques after the photograph is taken.
