[Cytologic diagnosis of myeloblastic leukemia via hemopericardial puncture (author's transl)]

In a case of primary aleukemic acute myeloblastic leukemia early evidence of the disease was provided by cytodiagnosis. Puncutre of the hemopericardium, the presenting symptom, showed malignant cells. Differential cytology, along with the age and sex of the patient led to a tentative diagnosis of leukemia, which was ultimately confirmed by bone-marrow studies.
