    Background:

    • Fluorescent whitening agents (FWAs) are widely used in consumer products.
    • Assessing the reproductive safety of FWAs is crucial for public health.
    • Limited data exists on the long-term reproductive effects of specific FWAs.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the reproductive performance of albino rats exposed to four FWAs.
    • To determine dose-dependent and generational effects of FWAs on reproduction.
    • To identify potential reproductive hazards associated with FWA exposure.

    Main Methods:

    • Administration of four FWAs (compounds 1-4) to albino rats at dietary levels of 40, 200, and 1000 ppm.
    • Multi-generational study design over three successive 2-litter generations.
