Summary

Low serotonin activity in rhesus macaques is linked to disrupted sleep-wake cycles. Lower cerebrospinal fluid 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (CSF 5-HIAA) correlated with increased nighttime activity and daytime sleepiness.
