Summary

Regular 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) therapy significantly lowers colorectal cancer (CRC) risk in ulcerative colitis (UC) patients. Targeted surveillance is recommended for those with a family history of CRC or unable to use 5-ASA.
