Abstract:
In order to achieve stability in function by osteosynthesis and consequently primary bony healing, the fragments of a fractured jaw are immobilized under compression by "compression plates". For special cases another method was developed by modification of the Stuttgart model in order to achieve compression osteosynthesis also when percutaneous bone screws are used.
