Abstract:
The Behavioral Health and Primary Care Depression Initiative provides a continuum of care for the chronic disease of depression. The expected results of this initiative are an improvement in the identification and treatment of depression. Providers will have increased confidence in their ability to treat depressed patients. Patients who are diagnosed with depression will receive appropriate care, follow-up, and referral and will have an improved quality of life. The community will experience more social, vocational, and economic health.
