Summary

Amiodarone, an antiarrhythmic drug, effectively reduces arrhythmias but does not improve overall survival in post-myocardial infarction patients. Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) show superior survival benefits over amiodarone for certain ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
