Summary

Cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) activity, measured by histone H1 kinase, remains high in mouse oocytes until 37 hours post-ovulation. After this point, CDK1 activity significantly decreases, suggesting potential degradation if fertilization does not occur.
