Summary

Superglue (instant glue) in the eye is rare but usually benign. Spontaneous rejection of the glue is preferred over aggressive removal for better healing of eye lesions.

  • Subtotal corneal erosion occurred but healed within four days with near-complete visual recovery.

Findings:

  • Despite a severe initial presentation, superglue-induced eye lesions typically follow a benign clinical course.
  • Aggressive therapeutic interventions may be more detrimental than beneficial in managing superglue eye injuries.

Implications:

  • Conservative management, allowing for spontaneous glue rejection, appears to be the optimal approach.
  • This case highlights the importance of cautious self-medication and appropriate handling of cyanoacrylate adhesives.
