[Heliodor Swiecicki: precursor of anesthesia with nitrous oxide in obstetrics]

Heliodor Swiecicki (1856-1926) gynaecologist and obstetrics had his own clinic in Poznań. He was one of the firsts who made anaesthesia with N2O and O2. Because of him it was possible to build by Ash & Sons machine with mixture of N2O and O2. He show his own constructions on X International Medical Congress in Berlin in 1890. It was a great success.
