Dental health education in the South Australian school dental programme

The role of dental health education as part of the school dental service is reviewed. Activities which promote dental health education and which involve school children, their parents, and dental therapists are also reviewed and comments are made on their evaluation. The effects of these programmes on the children's dental health, their health practices and their attitude to dental care is summarized.
