Summary

Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and transforming growth factor-beta2 (TGF-beta2) significantly contribute to retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cell-mediated contraction in proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Neutralizing antibodies targeting PDGF and TGF-beta2 effectively inhibit this contraction, offering potential therapeutic strategies for PVR.
